Reacting To The NFL Honors: Winners and Losers

The Award Winner:

MVP: Josh Allen

OPOY: Saquan Barkley

DPOY: Patrick Surtain II

CBPOY: Joe Burrow

COY: Kevin O’Connell

OROY: Jaden Daniels

DROY: Jared Verse

WINNERS:

Josh Allen

Josh Allen was the major winner from Friday’s nights awards. Allen has been in that elite class of QBs over the last 5+ years. He’s balled out year after year, and finally this year after limiting turnovers and maximizing production from a talent depleted roster Allen was rewarded with the much deserved MVP.

Saquan/ Saquan Believers

After wasting 6 years in poverty Saquan was able to join a franchise with standards and current decade success. Many fell off the Saquan bandwagon and even questioned the 27 year olds value and talent. Saquan simply answered by having the ninth 2000 yard rusher in NFL history and only 100 yard short of the single season record. This award highlights an incredible season from an incredible talent and highlights the importance of an organization and the teams structure.

Eli Manning Haters

The sanctity of the Hall Of Fame is protected as the 2025 Hall of Fame inductees were revealed and a certain QB was left off. Eli Manning was a major talking point leading into the reveal as many debated whether the 2x SB Champion and MVP deserved the title and rank of a first ballot hall of famer. The haters won as Eli Manning was left to wait again and see if next year he will receive the honor of joining the Hall of Fame.

Jaden Daniels and Washington Fans

Jaden did it Washington fans, despite a late season narrative push from the Bolievers, that Bo Nix deserved the award, Jaden Daniels wins OROY. After this post season run this award feels like the cherry on top for Daniels and Washington fans, if this is just the start to Daniels career good luck to the rest of the NFC East for years to come.

Losers:

Lamar Jackson Fanboys

This is no shot at Lamar who had an absolutely incredible season and in a sense was totally deserving of the MVP. His fans on the other hand need to stop being so hardheaded and realize how voting works. Not only has Lamar failed to succeed in the playoffs he has unfortunately put up some absolute stinkers in the loss. And to be 3x MVP in any sport you need to have postseason success. Until Lamar wins a SB or at least gets to the chip and balls out he can not win another MVP, yes it is not fair but it’s life, and it’s been like that for every star in every sport. So to the fans crying that their favorite player didn’t win an award I’d suggest to them its time to get your priorities straight and focus on Lamar’s playoff performances, and advancing.

Joe Burrow

Yes the winner of an award is on the list for losers, Joe Burrow is too good and carries too much cache to settle for the CBPOY. Burrow led the league in passing yards and passing TDs, and turned his team around from 0-4 to 9-8. The Bengals defense was absolutely awful and their failures should not be held against Burrow. Burrow should’ve refused to accept this award a player of his standard should only have his sights set on the MVP and should look at the CBPOY award as a slight.

Damar Hamlin

Yes the man who died on the football field and was brought back to life has now lost CBPOY 2x. Last year after just fighting to get back on the field and contributing on special teams Hamlin lost to Joe burrow who was coming back from… playing for the Jets no major injury no death, just sucking in NY. Now after making major strides and starting from the team one game away from the Super Bowl , Damar has lost CBPOY again. This time he lost to Joe Burrow who played more then half the season last year.

Kevin O’Connell

I know, I know, another winner on the loser list. Let me preface this I do believe Kevin O’Connell is a legit head coach, I do believe in the regular season he deserved this award and did an incredible job overachieving this year. Unfortunately it led to another flameout in the wildcard round of the playoffs. In 2 games KOC and the Vikings went from competing for the 1 seed in the west to eliminated. It is the beginning of a scary post season trend of the HC who again will now get to remember this COY award with 2 disastrous Sam Darnold games to end his season.
