The Nardo Wick: Hold Off-EP Review

Nardo Wick is back with a warm up as he prepares to deliver his sophomore album. Unfortunately this warm up is equivalent to missing every lay up in your warm up lines. This EP is bad, truly just bad. Following his debut album that released in 2021 and the success of his “Who Wants Smoke” single Nardo Wick has been ice cold. In almost 4 years following the release of his debut, Nardo Wick sounds exactly the same maybe even worse as these songs feel mailed in. Relying heavily on his menacing whisper flow Wickman returns giving us 6 songs of the same product. Even the Kodack feature on “I Don’t F**K With This Beat” is extremely disappointing as Yak sounds like he recorded his verse over zoom. Hopefully Nardo can take the feedback and criticism to this EP and retool and refocus before his sophomore release. However, with this being the first project released since his debut 3 years ago it appears as though there well may be dry.
